Paul Hogarth

Paul died in December 2001. He was one of the most distinguished painters of our times with a unique talent for illustration and reportage which was allied to his love of travel. This led him to produce drawings and watercolours recording events and places all over the world. He came to know Mallorca in 1959  on account of Robert Graves and subsequently bought a house there himself – as well as producing a portfolio of lithographs entitled Deyá (1972), he illustrated Majorca Observed with handwritten poems by Graves.
