Frank Hodgkinson

1919 – 1994, Australian Frank spent 1960-68 living, working and exhibiting in Madrid, Mallorca, Barcelona, Paris, London and Los Angeles. His paintings in encaustic and various other materials were heavily textured works which created a strong sense of place. For three years he lived in Deya with his daughter Kate and wife Van at C’an Bi with no running water, no fridge, no stove just two round holes in the tiled kitchen counter in which to burn charcoal and surrounded by terraces of oranges, almonds, olives and figs and the music of goats and sheep bells.
